100 Favorite Films: Casino to Citizen Kane

Picking my 100 favorite films was hard enough.  Ranking them?  Impossible.

Therefore I'll be presenting them in alphabetical order.  Also, very important to note...quoting the amazing Priscilla Page -

"...first and foremost, I never intend for this list to be an objective, declarative statement on film... I just want to share what I loved, what moved me, what helped me, what was fun to watch — in short, the movies I want other people to get their eyeballs on if they haven’t already."

Casino (1995)

When this came out in 1995 it really felt too much like "Goodfellas Go To Vegas" and I really didn't give it the proper respect it deserved. With time passing I re-watched it a few years ago and was blown away. This may actually be even better than Goodfellas. A spectacular film with perhaps Robert De Niro's last great leading role? (please, please, please give this man some more meaty leading roles!) Love it.

Casino Royale (2006)

Such a stunning debut for Daniel Craig as 007. This film is excellent! Action sequences and cinematography are stellar. Opening title sequence is clever and fun. It's too bad the next two Craig/Bond films didn't reach the heights this one did.

Chicago (2002)

I'm not a musical guy. Generally don't care for them. This one is an exception.

Chinatown (1974)

Pefect cast, perfect script, expertly directed. It's a stunning piece of work. The L.A. history lesson is an added bonus.

Citizen Kane (1941)

Seriously what can I say that a thousand people haven't already said about this classic?
