Picking my 100 favorite films was hard enough. Ranking them? Impossible.
Therefore I'll be presenting them in alphabetical order. Also, very important to note...quoting the amazing Priscilla Page -
"...first and foremost, I never intend for this list to be an objective, declarative statement on film... I just want to share what I loved, what moved me, what helped me, what was fun to watch — in short, the movies I want other people to get their eyeballs on if they haven’t already."
Good Will Hunting (1997)
Robin Williams is brilliant in this. ...and a young Matt Damon is always nice to look at.
The Good, The Bad and The Ugly (1966)
The perfect western?
Goodfellas (1990)
This would easily make my "Top 5" list.
Groundhog Day (1993)
Theologian Michael P. Pholey, writing for Touchstone Magazine, commented on the difficulty of determining a single religious or philosophical interpretation of the film, given Ramis's "ambiguous religious beliefs" as "an agnostic raised Jewish and married to a Buddhist", and suggested that when not viewed through a "single hermeneutical lens", the film could be seen as "a stunning allegory of moral, intellectual, and even religious excellence in the face of postmodern decay, a sort of Christian-Aristotelian Pilgrim's Progress for those lost in the contemporary cosmos."Others see an interpretation of Nietzsche's directive to imagine life—metaphorically or literally—as an endless repetition of events. "How would this shape your actions?" asks Goldberg. "What would you choose to live out for all eternity?"
Halloween (1978)
From the late 70's through the 80's there were a three major slasher film franchises born. Friday the 13th (1980), Nightmare on Elm Street (1984), but my favorite is still the original. Michael Meyers. I can't wait for the new remake/sequel coming out later this year!
